Matt-

Here are my comments from another thread regarding the poker rooms that I've played at:

paradise poker - software is good
pokerstars - best (type, limits) tourneys online
party poker - best (softest) games online, best game selection, most one table tourneys available at any given time
wsex - lost its edge but had the highest limits online, most flexible manager in regard to table creation/special requests

I pretty much only play at Partypoker now since the games are good and its very convenient. For someone who doesn't have much time to play its a great option since I can go there and find basically any game at any time that I want. Party's tourneys (1 table and multitable)are good but Pokerstars multitable tourneys cannot be beat. They have a weekly no limit tourney with an entry fee of 215 or 225 where the prize pool is >100k. I've only played in that once when I qualified through a satellite but it was cool. Party's biggest weaknesses:

1) Software is not the best. Some of the other sites have more aesthetically pleasing software that operates smoother.
2) Customer service is not timely. The influx of new players has jammed them on the customer service end so if you have a problem you'll have to wait a day or so to get it resolved. Before the ads it took a couple of hours. I've played there for about a year and had to contact customer service maybe 2-3 times. Once about a server crash while playing (they actually took care of the problem before responding to my email) and the others were reports of suspicious all-ins or collusion.

That's my take.

A few other posters play there so maybe they can chime in guys like.....Tekari, Playersonly69 (who had a long post bashing them but has recently been writing with partypoker tournament updates on his progress in a few events...lol), max1234, and SSI

One piece of advice, do not use Firepay to deposit with them.

matt,
im new to the online poker world, and i downloaded a few and tried out the free games. Partypoker and pokerstars seem to be the two best for me right now, giving partypoker the edge, because of their deposit bonus.

Im basically looking for soft games and I figure with the new players, it should be soft, like Paradise used to be. I used to be able to kill 5/10 games, now 3/6 is tough to beat. 6 or 7 callers used to see the flop in 5/10, now lucky to have 4 or 5 in 3/6.

only place on party where you would see 6-7 callers is 2/4 and below. MAYBE in a wild 3/6 you would see that but not usually. with that said, you can see 50+ pots in many 3/6 games and frequently you can find a few games with 60+ pots. in my experience pokerstars probably has the toughest ring games. btw, if you go to party and are "killing" the 5/10, let me know.

theswami, I have found partypoker's 5/10 games to be extremely beatable. If you use game selection you can play in avg pot sizes of 75 and up, especially at night. Over the last month I have to say I have been absolutely slaughtering the 5/10 games. I just hope this keeps up.

Also theswami, do you use pokertracker? If so email me at tekari@pokerguild.com we can talk and share info maybe.

you have mail tekari.

its strange but i have had a tough time with the 5/10 games. ive played the 15/30 and the 10/20 have have done fine at various times but for some reason my results are mixed at the 5/10. ive usually played in games where the avg pots are 85-90+. based on the play i feel like i should beat the game but frankly have been up and down with wins but at a crap rate.
